Kevin Thompson, Associate Dean for Advancement, UW College of Arts and Sciences

As the College’s chief advancement officer, Kevin Thompson leads the College’s integrated advancement office, which includes advancement services, corporate and foundation relations, development, and marketing and communications. He is responsible for securing private resources to support and advance the College’s mission and priorities, as well as directing how the College’s identity and work are shared with the broader community.

Thompson joined the University of Washington College of Arts & Sciences as associate dean for advancement in November 2022, after serving in advancement leadership roles at Northeastern University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina Wilmington. 

A native of coastal North Carolina, Thompson earned his doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State University, where he earned his master of public administration and a graduate certificate in nonprofit management.
